Senate Football Team has the honor of welcoming back Coach Cody Helgerson,  or as most people know him as Coach Cody. He will be coming back as the Senates offensive line coach. 

Coach Cody is an uncle, son, grandson, and a nephew with his roots stemming to a small town in the Central Oregon Coast. He realized that his passion was in sports as his parents involved him in sports since he was able to start walking. His parents were coaches at his local high school as volleyball, softball, baseball, and basketball coaches. Due to a lack of a youth football program he opted to play basketball and baseball until his opportunity to play football came in the 7th grade. Following his 8th grade year he absolutely grew in size which gave him the starting Left Tackle Position at his high school as a freshman. From there Coach Cody graduated high school and walked onto the Shasta College Football Program. He made the bold decision to move to California from Oregon where he found great success on the football field. 

He would proceed to play two years for the Shasta Football Program and in the second to last week of his second season, he got an unfortunate season-ending injury. After consulting with parents, friends, family members, and coaches he decided it was better to spend somtime away from football. He spent the next eight years of his life, redefining who he was, and undergoing incredible weight and body transformation. He maintained close correspondence with the coaches and would come to practices to help out and run drills. He also stayed involved in the Youth Programs around his local area, including Football and Basketball where he fell in love with coaching. He coached both Football and Basketball for Junior Varsity and Varsity level players. He also coached basketball for the local youth teams. He has worked with local community centers which allotted him varying coaching positions for Summer Leagues, after school programs and even went on to start his own local football camp for promising athletes in his local area. 

He recently moved to Utah in May of this year without much knowledge of the local Utah area but immediately fell in love. He felI in love again with the community, coaching and rekindling his passion he has for helping the new generation of rising football stars. He was quoted saying "There's not much more that I love than watching a person develop into a good person, great athlete, and I love being a part of that process." Alongside his passion for sports he also has an incredible passion for food. He is the Founder and Chief Executive officer of BlueCaesar Foods where he not only does catering but also personal cooking. He has been able to blend the fusion of being an incredible athlete while maintaining a healthy nutrition. In his spare time you can find Coach Cody camping, hiking, fishing, or reflecting over a quality drive in the backcountry roads.

The Senate was established to provide the community with high quality minor league football, and help cultivate local talent giving local athletes the opportunity to participate in professional football.
